King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium attend a concert at Bozar, the Centre for Fine Arts, on the evening before the National Day celebrations, in Brussels. Prince Lorenz and Princess Astrid as well as Prince Laurent and Princess Claire also attended the concert.
Belgian National Day commemorates when Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, becoming the first King of the Belgians. The king’s vow marked the start of the independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament.
