The Danish royal family gathered at Copenhagen’s Marselisbog Palace to celebrate the 74th birthday of Queen Margrethe. The Royal family annually congregates on the palace balcony where the public turns out to celebrate the monarch’s birthday. Three generates of the family attended this year with the youngest of them climbing all over the balcony.

And as is customary the Danes turned out to sing a heartfelt ‘happy birthday’ for their monarch, who has been on the throne since 1972.

Marselisborg Palace is a royal residence of the Danish Royal Family in Aarhus. It has been the summer residence of Queen Margrethe II since 1967.
