The Dutch royal couple officially celebrated the start of 2015 with a New Year reception at the Royal Palace in Dam Square. After speeding the Christmas break in Argentina, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima seemed happy to be home.
Together with Princess Beatrix, Princess Margriet and her husband Pieter van Vollenhoven, the King and Queen hosted the traditional New Year’s reception where they welcomed hundreds of guests representing the Dutch society. They also welcomed foreign diplomats and members of international organizations as Willem-Alexander delivered a speech, touching on such subjects as employment.
