Hoping to “boost relations” between Sweden and France, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia traveled for a 3-Day state visit to France. They were welcomed in Paris at the Elysee Palace by French President Francois Hollande. This was the first state visit to France in 34 years.
Carl Gustaf and Silvia then visited the Parisian football club Paris Saint Germain. Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a Swedish footballer and one of the biggest stars on the European football scene, plays the French capital’s club and was on hand to greet the King and Queen.
