2015 has started out busy for Kate Duchess of Cambridge. Two of her first engagements of 2015 included attending an event hosted by The Fostering Network in Islington today to celebrate the work of foster carers and officially naming The Clore Art Room at Barlby School in London.
Originally scheduled for October, 2014, the official naming of The Clore Room was postponed due to the Duchess’ illness. She has a great interest in using the creativity of art to enrich the lives of young people and was greatly disappointed when she had to cancel. But she made sure to reschedule.
In Islington, Kate’s visit coincides with Fostering and Adoption Week, Barnardo’s annual campaign to raise awareness for fostering and adopting children in the UK. Her Royal Highness was given an overview of the world of fostering when she met carers, care leavers and social workers who discussed their experiences.
