After Kate, Duchess of Cambridge’s bout with morning sickness forced her to back out of a trip to Malta, Prince William stepped in to take her place. It was to be the Dutchess’ first trip on her own but had to pull out on doctors’ advice.
Prince William spent his time meeting teenagers playing table football (aka foosball) and attending a Mass to celebrate the country’s 50 years of independence.
Interestingly, the Prince’s trip has sparked a 60-70% increase in travel interest to the region. Hotel and travel website searches dramatically increased during and after the royal visit.
